D23 Star Wars News: The Clone Wars Returns and Official Eras Announced

Obviously, the big reveals for Star Wars fans were the official trailer drop for The Mandalorian which looks amazing, the announcement of the Obi-Wan series which will see the return of Ewan McGregor, and the reveal that Darth Maul would also be seeing a Disney+ series. But, other news was also tossed out that isn't making the same headlines. Tonight, Kathleen Kennedy opened the flood gates by stating that the Star Wars films and series would now be broken up into three official eras in the Skywalker saga. They will be as follows:

The Age of Republic - The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, The Clone Wars, and Revenge of the Sith

The Age of Rebellion - Rebels, Solo, Rogue One, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, , and Return of the Jedi

The Age of Resistance - Resistance, The Mandalorian, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker

She also announced that The Clone Wars would be returning for one final, seventh season which will premiere on Disney+ in February 2020. She also briefly mentioned that the Cassian Andor sereis is in development and will be roughly ten hours long. That show is currently in production in London.

Just when you think there's a lot of Star Wars, you find out there's a LOT more coming. We can't wait to see what the future brings. Perhaps moving some of this from the cinematic realm to the smaller home theater will be a good choice for the brand as a whole.
