Enter The Matrix Again: Keanu Says The Matrix 4 Script is "Very Ambitious"

Right around the time that we were celebrating the 20th Anniversary of The Matrix, breaking news hit that Lana Wachowski was working on a new sequel. With that stunning report, it was also confirmed that Carrie Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves would be returning in their respective roles. Although very little is known at this point about the upcoming sequel, most fans immediately rallied behind the idea, thinking that it might be time to return to that world. Despite a split reaction to the two existing sequels, the trilogy is still very popular with genre fans and general audiences alike. The fourth entry is still in the early stages with a script ready to go. Production is said to begin sometime in early 2020 with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell assisting in the writing process.

While attending the premiere of his sister Karina Miller's new film Semper Fi, Keanu had a short and sweet answer about the script for the upcoming return to The Matrix:

"It's very ambitious. As it should be."

The latest entry in the series is being produced by the original studios, Warner Bros. in partnership with Village Roadshow. This will be the first Matrix film since 2003's finale, Revolutions. The new movie has not been given an official release date yet.
