Jurassic News: Colin Trevorrow Announces Jurassic World Short Film To Air on FX This Sunday

While filming has not commenced on a third Jurassic World quite yet, Colin Trevorrow has announced that he's still been working in that universe. This Sunday, his new Jurassic short film, Battle at Big Rock will air on FX. The short is said to further expand on the mythology of the island. The project will be on the cable outlet on Sunday, September 15th with very few details known. Trevorrow previously directed the first Jurassic World film and was a writer on its follow up, Fallen Kingdom. The short doesn't feature any of the cast from the movies but will center on new characters.

Trevorrow was initially hired to direct and helm the third in the latest Star Wars trilogy, but was removed due to creative differences with Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy. Jurassic World was a major financial success for the studio but didn't fair well with critics. Its sequel, Fallen Kingdom had a similar reaction as well. It went on to massive grosses but failed to live up to its predecessors. A third film is expected to close out the current string of movies. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are fully expected to return for the final movie.
