The last few months have been on fire with The Batman news cycle. When it was announced that Robert Pattinson would be donning the cowl in the upcoming launch of a new Batman trilogy, the internet broke down into warring factions over the casting announcement. Then there were rumors about Mr. Wright taking on a role and things got real interesting. In the last two weeks we've received news that Paul Dano would be taking on The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz would be starring as Catwoman. Now today, director Matt Reeves has formally confirmed that Jeffrey Wright is officially our new Jim Gordon.
The man behind the upcoming film sent out a Tweet today officially proclaiming that Wright will be Commissioner Gordon. The newest incarnation of Batman looks to go back to his detective roots and will be a totally new spin from what we've seen in the past few years with Christian Bale and Ben Affleck. Perhaps, it really is time to do something fresh with this character. Now we wait. It's good to know that the cast is rounding out so well.
