Star Wars News: David Benioff and D.B. Weiss Quit Planned Trilogy

As Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian are quickly approaching our eyeballs, fans are wondering, what is next for the franchise? A Rian Johnson trilogy? A Kevin Feige movie with an A-List star? A black and white movie about porgs in a dysfunctional marriage? The possibilities are endless...unless you wanted a trilogy from the Game of Thrones creators.

Late Monday night, Deadline reported that the Game of Thrones duo has exited the Star Wars franchise. While this is on the heels of a controversial finale and a controversial appearance at the Austin Film Festival, this is reportedly due to their busy schedule caused by the huge overall deal they made with Netflix recently.

Fear not, Lucasfilm and Benioff and Weiss seem to be in better relationship than the one Benioff and Weiss have with Game of Thrones fans. Kathleen Kennedy released a statement that compliments them as storytellers and hoping that they'll come back when their schedule gets less crazy.
