Although season 1 hasn't even begun airing yet, it looks like Disney+ already knows what a hit they have on their hands. With the premiere of the show just a few weeks away when the streaming service finally arrives, it looks like The Mandalorian is already into production on the second season. This is the first live action Star Wars television series ever! It was created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and will further expand the mythology of the galaxy far, far away. During a press event for the show, Favreau commented that the second batch of episodes was already underway. Obviously, their confidence in The Mandalorian is very high.
It was also reported by Screen Rant that Carl Weathers is not only starring in the show as a support player but has taken up directing one of the upcoming episodes in season two. He recently directed an episode of Hawaii Five-O as well.
The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
