Once trapped in
development hell, it seems as though Matt Reeves's The Batman is finally
inching closer and closer to production. Every other week, we get a new round
of inspired casting choices for The Batman that is sure to surprise and paint a
clearer picture of what this film will be. With that in mind, we learned Peter
Sarsgaard is the latest to be confirmed to be a part of the film via director
Matt Reeves on Twitter.
There is no word yet on
who Sarsgaard will be playing but sources are saying that it is either a
corrupt cop in the Gotham City police department or district attorney Harvey
Dent. Either sounds like an interesting choice for Sarsgaard and adds some more
interesting shades to what the film could be about. Sarsgaard last did a comic
book film in 2011, appearing in Green Lantern. I am sure that like most people he wants to
forget about that.
Sarsgaard is join the
stacked cast which includes Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as
Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffery Wright as
Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Sources say that
filming is set to begin early next year for a June 25th, 2021.
