Come To Me: Under The Skin May Become A TV Series

As one of my personal favorite films of all time, it's hard to imagine Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin translated to the small screen. However, it appears that there is movement towards bringing the tale of a stranded alien into our homes as a full televised series. There seems to be a bidding war happening between A24 and Silver Reel. It's being reported that the production house Silver Reel is attempting to secure televised rights to the characters and relative materials to the movie but A24 is partially standing in their way considering they're also working on the next Glazer project. A decision may come in the upcoming weeks which will define where the series might head as far as a cable outlet or streaming service and who might retain the rights to the overall project.

Glazer developed the movie by himself which is loosely based on the 2000 science fiction novel by Michael Faber. The film obviously starred Scarlett Johansson in the lead role which ultimately become one of her best, smaller indie parts. The movie went on to make $7.7 million against a meager $13.3 million budget. Although it wasn't a box office hit by any means, it has quite the cult following and is still discussed by genre fans to this day.

We'll update as we learn more about this project. In the right hands, it could be an interesting extension of the film.
