An updated film version of Masters of the Universe has been in development hell for years now. Just a little while back, Sony picked up the property and was planning an all new reboot that would see a return to Eternia and He-Man's battles against the evil Skeletor and his band of baddies. Well, it appears that not all is well with the project once again as it's now been completely removed from their upcoming film slate. Masters of the Universe was scheduled to hit on March 25, 2021 but has now been replaced by the live action Uncharted (which was also pushed back several months).
Back in October it was reported that He-Man would skip the cineplexes and go directly to Netflix via a deal they were working out with the streaming platform. While nothing has been officially confirmed as of this report, it looks like the movie might be dead in the water for now. The planned animated series is still full steam ahead and will join She-Ra on Netflix.
