Endure and Survive: The Last of Us To Become An HBO Show

In some not so surprising news, Craig Manzin is staying at HBO, following the success of his limited series, Chernobyl. The bigger surprise is that he is developing the smash hit video game, The Last of Us, into an ongoing series for the network.

The writer and creative director of the game, Neil Druckmann, is also set to be involved with the show and will work with Mazin to pen and executive produce what is intended to be a series. Naughty Dog Studios, who produced the original game and the upcoming sequel, will be involved with the show alongside Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions. This will be PlayStation Productions first television series.

The series is planned to be covering the events of the first game. Set in the post-apocalyptic United States, the game tells the story of survivors Joel and Ellie as they work together to survive their westward journey across what remains of the country to find a possible cure for a fungal plague that has nearly decimated the entire human race. We can't wait to see what happens next with this project.
