Galactic Images: Luke Cradles Vader's Helmet in Early Force Awakens Concept Art



With the Skywalker saga fully behind us at this point, we're seeing new concept art from the 2015 release of The Force Awakens hitting the internet. Although Luke Skywalker was only in a small cameo appearance in the film and had no lines, it seems that the original script may have given him a much bigger role. And we're sure that fans would have loved for him to have been an integral part of the movie considering the backlash that the trilogy still receives to this day. Luke (of course) had a larger part in The Last Jedi as a central character and was once again relegated to near cameo status in The Rise of Skywalker, both of which had the internet at war with itself. 

One of the art directors, Christian Alzmann recently posted a piece of concept art that shows Luke cradling the charred remains of Darth Vader's helmet. The idea was not used in the movie but the iconic head armor was used quite a bit throughout the trilogy as an emotional callback to Vader. Check out the image below:
