Return to Westworld: Season 3 Photos and Episode Synopsis Revealed

Fans of Westworld have been waiting a while for season 3 to finally hit HBO. After its premiere season on the media juggernaut, the second year seemed to taper off creatively and many fans bowed out. With the third year finally on the horizon, it seems that interest is high as many new cast members are being added and the producers try to get the show back on even footing. This year promises less episodes than previous seasons with only 8 chapters instead of 10, but its estimated that they may end up being a bit longer. However, this is not confirmed by HBO.

Westworld has added newcomers Aaron Paul, Lena Waithe, and NFL player Marshawn Lynch and Vincent Cassel to the character lineup. Most of the cast from season two will be returning. We can't wait to see what Evan Rachel Wood and Tessa Thompson are up to this year as well as Mr. Wright. They all add their own distinct flair to the series.

The series is based on the original Michael Crichton story which spawned several movies in a film franchise decades ago. Check out the movie Westworld from 1973 to see where the inspiration for the show comes from. Here is a brief synopsis of the first four episodes:

Episode 3.01 titled “Parce Domine,” directed by Jonathan Nolan from a script he co-wrote with Lisa Joy: If you’re stuck in a loop, try walking in a straight line.
Episode 3.02 titled “The Winter Line,” directed by Richard J. Lewis from a script co-written by Matthew Pitts & Lisa Joy: People put up a lot of walls. Bring a sledgehammer to your life.
Episode 3.03 titled “The Absence of Field,” directed by Amanda Marsalis from a script by Denise Thé: If you don’t like what you see in the mirror, don’t blame the mirror.
