Streaming Media Outbreak: The Invisible Man, The Hunt, Emma and More Hitting VOD on Friday

In a major move to quell the entertainment market and the stunning losses it will be taking over the next couple months, the studios are making an unprecedented move. Many theatrical releases will be hitting the VOD streaming market long before they were even pulled from theaters. Considering many states have shut down all public forums including theaters, restaurants and bars during the COVID-19 outbreak, several studios including NBC Universal are moving to make their current theatrical slate available for home viewing. Hitting this Friday, The Invisible Man and The Hunt will both be available for online purchase. Both films fall under the Blumhouse moniker. While The Invisible Man has been making a decent amount at the box office, The Hunt was hurt as its release coincided with the decision that we should all be social distancing ourselves.

Focus Features update of Emma will also be available on streaming platforms. It looks like most of the movies will be available to watch for $19.99 which is similar to the cost of streaming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, also available a few weeks prior to its scheduled digital release.
