Galactic News: Russian Doll Creator Developing New Star Wars Show for Disney+

Yesterday it was announced that Disney+ is in the early stages of bringing another Star Wars show to the streaming outlet. Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland is currently working on a new female centric show for Lucasfilm. While the media conglomerate is still working on its next movie that's supposed ot hit theaters in December of 2022, they've turned their eye to creating more content along the lines of their hit series, The Mandalorian. They also have the Cassian Andor project and Obi-Wan series both in development at this time. Both have suffered minor delays due to scripting issues and the coronavirus outbreak.

It's being said that the new show from Headland will take place "in a different part of the Star Wars timeline" with no other details being revealed quite yet. The only other thing that's been released is that the project will in no way be part of the Skywalker timeline and will take place thousands of years after the events of the Rise of Skywalker. This is great news as fans are definitely itching for new, more original material from the status quo.

We'll obviously report as we find out more. Headland's Russian Doll was a fairly sized hit for Netflix. It will be interesting to see where she goes with a much more expansive universe to work in.
