The Saint Reboot: Chris Pine Set To Star in Relaunch of the Classic Character

While much of Hollywood is shut down due to the global coronavirus pandemic, many new projects are seeing the light of day. As most feature films are seeing delayed releases and production halted, the folks that get movies off the ground are still busy as hell trying to prep for a time when theaters are open again and we can finally return to some normalcy. With tons of remakes and relaunches currently shelved or awaiting the green light, it looks like a classic character is once again getting the reboot treatment. Last seen in the 2017 television movie starring Adam Rayner and previously the 1997 film starring Val Kilmer in the title role, the character of Simon Templar is getting another movie that will star Wonder Woman and Star Trek actor Chris Pine in the lead role.

The Saint originated as a series of books way back in the 1920's then was turned into a television show with Roger Moore as Templar in the '60s. Now, Chris Pine will reportedly take on the part for a new movie from Paramount Pictures. The star is currently in final negotiations for the project. Considering Star Trek has failed to launch its fourth film up to this point, it will be nice to see Pine taking on another higher profile character.

We'll update as we learn more.
