Galactic News: The Mandalorian Season 2 Will Not Be Delayed

It's Monday, it's Star Wars Day, and we're kicking off the week with some amazingly positive news for our readers. Despite the coronavirus shutting down production on nearly every television and movie project, it looks like The Mandalorian is moving ahead with zero delays. The show had completed filming its second season prior to the extensive stay at home orders and had already begun post-production. So, the VFX folks behind the show are claiming that the second batch of episodes won't see any delays and will hit its deadline for premiere. Director Rick Famuyiwa, who helmed "The Child" and "The Prisoner" episodes during season 1 says that they're full steam ahead on getting the show prepped for its second year release.

When speaking with Variety, he had this to say:

“We’ve been hunkered down in the post process. It’s been a challenging and great experience so far. But it’s good to have that to take my mind away from the daily madness that we’re living at the moment.”

So, as of right now, The Mandalorian season 2 will still be hitting Disney+ in October 2020 as planned, with zero delays in post production.
