It was long thought that that Boba Fett died in the Sarlaac Pit during the events of Return of the Jedi. Later that was changed throughout the expanded universe as the galaxy's most notorious bounty hunter apparently climbed out of the beast's belly. Now news is breaking that his fate has been changed in the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Today, it's been revealed that actor Temuera Morrison who portrayed Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequel trilogy will be returning to play his son Boba in the awaited return of the series when it comes back. The news broke on The Hollywood Reporter just a little while ago and has been confirmed by the online news source.

Boba Fett was teased during the first season in the episode called The Gunslinger when a mysterious shadowy figure seemed to be donning the classic armor. Season two has been slated for October 2020 with reports saying there will be no delays related to the COVID-19 outbreak as filming had been completed prior to the shutdown.

Boba remains one of the most popular characters in Star Wars history which is amazing considering his very limited on screen time during The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Morrison has been building quite the career for himself the past couple decades and most recently had a starring role in the live action Aquaman feature.
