Knowing Is Half The Battle: Paramount Plans New Live Action G.I. Joe Movie After Snake Eyes

After two dreadful G.I. Joe live actions films, the franchise was abandoned for over seven years. Now, with retro properties being the big thing, Hasbro and Paramount are doing everything in their power to revitalize some of their biggest brands. Later this year, as long as everything plays out with the coronavirus, a new Snake Eyes solo movie is set to hit movie theaters worldwide and this has set in motion a chain of events that the production house plans on taking full advantage of. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two companies are planning on pairing up for another G.I. Joe movie that will bring the full military might of the armed unit back to the big screen to battle their arch enemy, Cobra.

The report from today says that Seberg writers Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have signed on to develop a script for a relaunch of the long running franchise property. It's being reported that Henry Golding and Samara Weaving have already signed to continue on as Snake Eyes and Scarlett as part of their contract on the upcoming solo film.

The new film, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is a total reboot from the last set of films and will most likely be setting up the a new set of movies as long as box office receipts are strong.
