Netflix News: Louis Leterrier Set To Direct Bright 2

It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by Covid-19. Yep, it's news about a project being developed in Hollywood? Remember when those stories happened!?! Here's another one!

Netflix has been developing a sequel to David Ayer's Bright since the film's release, all the way back in 2017. Bright was one of the first big Netflix original films featuring a major movie star, paving the way for films like Six Underground, Triple Frontier, and Extraction. For a while, there wasn't a lot of news on the sequel front for Bright but now it seems like there is some forward momentum on the project.

Louis Leterrier, director of The Incredible Hulk and Netflix's Dark Crystal series, is set to direct the sequel in the place of David Ayer. Will Smith and Joel Edgerton will return as the mismatched police duo. Ayer will remain on board as a writer and producer for the film. Bright 2 is set to be a bigger scale take on the magic world and hopes to begin production after the quarantine.
