X-News: The New Mutants Gets A New Release Date

By now it's understood that The New Mutants has seen tons of trouble. But fans are holding out hope to see it soon!

Since its announcement way back in 2017, the Marvel movie has been on the receiving end of bad news. The worst part has been the way it's been kicked around the schedule repeatedly. Then, with the coronavirus delaying nearly every project under the sun, the film received another long winded delay. Then it was thought that it would possibly get a streaming release where it might see a bit of success. But that idea was shot down as well. Now, it looks like the studio has finally settled on a new date for theatrical release of the movie. Right now, it's been moved to August 28th, 2020 with the hopes that it will finally see the light of day. However, no one really knows if all theaters would potentially be open by then. In the long run it might end up being delayed again if theater chains haven't fully opened back up by then yet.

The New Mutants launched in 1982 by Marvel with work by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. The movie is being described as "Stephen King meets John Hughes". The movie will follow a new batch of teenage mutants as heroes in training. It stars Anna Taylor-Joy (Glass and Split) and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones).
