I know what you're thinking. What? How? Isn't the character and the actor who played him gone? How is this going to work? Rumors suggest that Loomis will be involved in a sequence set on the night of the original film in 1978.
For those of you who followed the production of 2018's Halloween, this is not a far out possibility. You might remember hearing in various interviews that early drafts of the original script for that film opened on the final scene of the original film. Director David Gordon Green wanted to use a de-aged Jamie Lee Curtis and a digital Donald Pleasance to bridge the gap between the two films and bring the audience who hadn't seen the original up to speed on what happened. The sequence was far along enough in the production that they had recreated the original house from the film but opted not to use it after John Carpenter felt the sequence was not needed for the film. Maybe this sequence has been repurposed and given the proper amount of time and money needed considering how much money Halloween 2018 made.
While there aren't a lot of concrete details, we are excited to see where this movie goes after the events of the last one and that it is the second part of a trilogy. Halloween Kills will menacingly walk into theaters on October 16th, 2020 and then be followed next year by Halloween Ends.
