Sci-Fi News: Olivia Munn To Star in Replay, A Science Fiction Action Thriller

Olivia Munn is set to take over the lead role in the upcoming science fiction/action/thriller hybrid movie, Replay. Although she's been featured in numerous genre films like X-Men: Apocalypse, this will be the first time she's carried an entire movie as the lead star. The new project is said to be inspired by action films like John Wick and The Raid, but is based in sci-fi. Replay is currently being showcased at the Cannes Film Festival virtual market as they look to shop the movie. It's written and will be directed by Jimmy Loweree. 

 The quick description says that the story focuses on Erin Staffer, a woman whose husband is murdered by kidnappers. Using futuristic tech, Staffer tries to change the past to save him from certain death. It's said to use close quarters hand to hand combat and to be heavily action-centric. Dark Castle's Ethan Erwin says, "Audiences are going to witness the birth of the next great action star with Olivia Munn in this film!".

 We have no release date on this one yet, but it sounds interesting. We'll be looking forward to this one and will update as we find out more.
