It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. Right now, we are looking into the newly announced Tron sequel.
As you might have heard, Jared Leto and director Garth Davis have officially signed on for a new installment in the Tron franchise. It will give fans of the series another entry in the decades old franchise and it looks more details are coming out about this new installment.
According to a leaked casting grid, the project is apparently called Tron: Ares and will be a standalone sequel. There is no word yet on whether the cast of Tron: Legacy will return for it. Mulan star Liy Yifei is wanted for the female lead. As the script is still being hammered out, there is not a lot of casting info or details to gleam from these early reports. It makes sense that the studio would be high on Liu Yifei, given the positive buzz surrounding the soon to come Mulan.
We have no word yet on when we will be able to return to the Grid. We hope that it is worth the wait.
