Galactic Toy News: Hot Toys To Release Ahsoka Tano Figure

Hot Toys has announced they're finally making an Ahsoka Tano figure and it looks stellar! Starting back in 2000  making U.S. Military special forces figures, Hot Toys has dedicated to a high standard of detail and accuracy. Moving on to pop culture characters by the mid 2000's, they quickly took the lead of the pack of 1:6 scale collectibles with their amazing headsculpts and likenesses. One of their more iconic standouts has been their Heath Ledger Joker figure from The Dark Knight. To this day it still fools people that it's an action figure and not a photo from the movie set. Implementing a new feature of movable eyes, even the most static of poses can achieve a new level of presence by shifting the figures eyes in just the right direction. Over the last 20 years, they've licensed and executed some of the most incredible collectibles across the world, making massive amounts of figures for the MCU, DCEU, and Star Wars.

Over the years, Ahsoka has had some presence on the toy shelf since her introduction in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie. Her first figure in the 3 3/4” line came with Rotta the Huttlet, son of Jabba. Over the next 12 years, a few versions have been released depicting the character as she has grown from young Padawan, to a battlefield commander in the Clone Wars, to finally out growing the Jedi and forging her own path across the stars.

This new Hot Toys figure has been on the wish list of fans for a long time. The figure comes with a large amount of accessories for a variety of options. The movable eyes are there as well as articulated montrals and head-tails, with each head being hand painted. There are 28 points of articulation, seven different hands, two pairs of lightsabers with different effects, a thermal detonator, and a set of holoprojectors with holograms of Anakin, Obi-wan, and Yoda. This also includes a highly detailed costume with optional poncho and figure display stand with nameplate and Star Wars logo. Though as of now, there hasn't been a live action depiction of the character, the head sculpt seems to closely resemble the voice actress for Ahsoka, Ashley Eckstein.

With an estimated release date in Quarter 4 of 2021/Quarter 1 of 2022, these images are prototypes and may change before the final release. Personally, I'm incredibly excited for this figure! This is one of the two Star Wars figures I would make an exception for from Hot Toys. The second being Sam Witwer's Galen Marek aka Starkiller from The Force Unleashed video games.
