Highfire: Nicolas Cage to Voice Dragon in Amazon Show

It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, it's a new Nicolas Cage project! Yay!

Nicolas Cage is set to star in and executive produce Highfire for Amazon, based on the novel of the same name by Eoin Colfer. The show is set in a world where dragons used to rule the land but they don’t anymore.

Cage will play the titular Highfire, a vodka-drinking, Flashdance  loving dragon known as Vern who lives an isolated existence in the bayous of Louisiana. When Vern’s world collides with a human teen named Squib, who becomes mixed up in some trouble with the local mob, their mutual struggle for survival becomes entangled in the most unlikely of friendships.

If the show gets picked up to series, this will be Nicolas Cage’s second TV gig in recent months. He is also set to play Joe Exotic in a show for CBS from the creators of American Vandal. Personally, there can never be too much Nick Cage in this world, so let’s hope this happens.
