It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, it's about Scream 5.
Scream 5 has been in active development for a while so it is nice to hear that it is inching closer and closer to happening. Paramount Pictures has confirmed that Scream 5 will release on January 14th, 2022. The next movie in the long running franchise will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo behind last year's Ready or Not. The film was originally set for a 2021 release but was delayed for the health and safety of it's crew. It is set to begin filming in the fall.
The film is currently casting right now. David Arquette and Courtney Cox are confirmed to reprise their roles. There is no word yet on Neve Campbell's return but let's hope that happens as it wouldn't be a Scream movie without Sidney Prescott.
