Money Moves: Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead Gets A Prequel and an Animated Series at Netflix

It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, it's about the new Zack Snyder movie. No, not the Snyder Cut. The other one.

Last year, Zack Snyder and Netflix have partnered up to make Army of the Dead. Very little has been heard about the movie since shooting wrapping before the pandemic and the Snyder Cut sucked up all of the oxygen in the room. We know that it is a zombie heist movie with Dave Bautista but we don't know much else about it.

And while Army of the Dead is not set to come out until next year, Netflix has decided it wants to stay in the Zack Snyder business. The streaming giant has given the green light to a prequel and animated series based on the movie, which will expand the world of Army of the Dead.

One of the writers of Army of the Dead, Shay Hatten, will write both the prequel and on the animated series. The untitled prequel will be directed by and star Matthias Schweighöfer, reprising his role as Ludwig Dieter. Snyder will produce the film.

The animated series will be known as Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. It will chronicle the origins of the crew led by Dave Bautista's character. The cast of the film is expected to reprise their roles for the show. The show will be run by Jay Oliva and Snyder will also produce the series.

There is no word yet on when any of these will come out but I am sure Snyder fans will be waiting with baited breath for any new detail about this franchise.
