Return to Pandora: James Cameron Says Filming is Complete on Avatar 2

After a delay that spans more than a decade, work on Avatar 2 is reaching its climax. Today James Cameron announced that he has officially wrapped filming on the sequel to his science fiction epic. Part two of his series about aliens and beautiful environments has seen numerous push backs due to the pandemic and years of waiting as Cameron worked to further the technology which would allow him to make the movies he wants to make. When speaking with Arnold Schwarzenegger at the 2020 Austrian World Summit, the director stated that he is done filming and ready to move on to the editing process. The film will not release until December 2022. James also stated that they are almost done with principle photography on Avatar 3.

Cameron had to say this about the long awaited sequels to what was at one time the most profitable box office champion of all time:

"So where we are right now, I'm down in New Zealand shooting. We're shooting the remainder of the live action. We've got about 10 percent left to go. We're 100 percent complete on Avatar 2 and we're sort of 95 percent complete on Avatar 3"

This is amazing because many of us never thought we'd see this day.
