Shangra-La on Dope: Michael Dougherty Directing A Nightbreed Series

It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, there is more of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed on the way!

In a conversation with, horror icon Clive Barker was talking up the upcoming adaptation of his Books of Blood on Hulu. And while that is exciting, Clive Barker dropped some even more exciting news. The long in-development series adaptation of Nightbreed is set to be directed by Trick ‘r Treat’s Michael Dougherty!

In the thirty years since the original movie, Barker is excited to return to his source material. Barker is involved with the series and is writing out the series bible along with Dougherty. There is no word yet on when the series will happen or when will it air but we imagine that it will find a home on Shudder or another streaming service.
