It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, the Blumhouse remake of Firestarter is heating up casting wise!

For a while we had heard nothing about Blumhouse's plans to redo Firestarter. We knew that they had plans and that they announced them after the success of Andy Muschetti's IT and a wave of Stephen King adaptations were announced. But we hadn't heard much after that announcement back in 2017. Until now.

Zac Efron has signed on to join the film. He will presumably play the titular character’s father. There is no word yet on who will play his daughter but I imagine that we will find out soon. Keith Thomas is still attached to direct the movie from a script written by Scott Teems. We can’t wait to see what they do with this movie and will let you know more when we know it.
