Tonight's latest casting news finds former 24 co-star and lead from The Girl Next Door, Elisha Cuthbert has boarded the new horror film, The Cellar. Epic Pictures just announced the Irish thriller that will also star Eoin Macken (Stumptown) in a leading role. The movie will be written and directed by Brendan Muldowney (Pilgrimage) and will begin its shoot some time this coming November. This will be an Irish/Belgian production that will film in Roscommon, Ireland over the late fall and winter months.
Cuthbert began building a solid acting career with her starring role as Kim Bauer in Fox's 24 opposite Kiefer Sutherland. She also had lead parts in Are You Afraid of the Dark prior to 24 and has continued to star and act in several other television series. She took one of her first horror turns in the 2007 Roland Joffe abduction bomb, Captivity.
While no real story details have been released about the movie quite yet, we're excited to see her return to the horror genre. Epic Pictures will be releasing the movie when it hits screens.
