It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is slowly starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make when things get back to normal again. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This time, it's about the Resident Evil reboot!

After six movies starring Milla Jovovich, some may of thought the sun had set on Resident Evil as a film franchise. Well, fear not. Resident Evil is returning to the big screen and we are now getting an idea of who is going to be in the new film and what it will be about.

Starring in the film will be Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, and Neal McDonough as William Birkin. The film will be written and directed by Johannes Roberts.

Roberts describes the film as a back to basics for the series. It will be set in  Raccoon City in the year 1998 and is an adaptation of both the first and second game in the series. The film is set to focus more on the horror aspects of the series rather than the over the top action shootouts that dominated the previous films in the series. Sony's Screen Gems division will release the film, like they have the other films in the series. There is no word yet when the film will be in front of cameras but we imagine that it will be soon.
