It's been several years since Mad Max: Fury Road was released in cinemas. The movie which continued the long running franchise with Tom Hardy taking over for Mel Gibson has definitely left its mark on the world of post armageddon wasteland action flicks and once again pushed the story of Max Rockatansky back into the world. Since its release there's been much discussion about a sequel, but George Miller ultimately decided to tell the story of a younger Furiosa who will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy when it finally gets rolling. Charlize Theron has even made note that she's fully supportive of the move into prequel territory and loves the casting they've done. Joy is quickly becoming one of the hardest working female actors in Hollywood.
Now, Warner Bros. is getting the movie up and running and has given it an official release date. Starring along with Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Joy will be working from a script that was developed and will be developed by George Miller himself. The movie is set to release in what will hopefully be a post-COVID future on July 21, 2023.
