It has certainly been an insane news cycle the past two days. Disney has introduced a bevy of new projects that will surround their Star Wars and Marvel franchise properties. Yesterday it was announced that they would be releasing ten new series centered on both of the brands. With tons of new comic book and galactic television and movies on the way, it's also been revealed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be getting their very own spin off TV show with a new series about Groot. As a member of the band of intergalactic misfits, he is undoubtedly the most highly marketed and will definitely fill a great void in the Disney televised world.
For a while it was rumored that there would be a Groot and Rocket show but it never materialized. Now Baby Groot will have his very own episodic series of shorts on the streaming outlet. This follows the trend that Disney has released other franchise based shorts around many of their other characters including Olaf from Frozen.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be in theaters in 2023 so hopefully they get this in their catalog of shows in 2022.
