News From LV-426: Alien Series from Noah Hawley Officially Announced for FX

It had been discussed for months now. What was Disney going to do with the Alien franchise? There were rumblings of Ridley Scott attempting to kickstart another film with the Mouse House. There were rumors of a potential television series. Well, it's official now. Noah Hawley is on board a television series that will be set for release on FX. It was made public today at the Walt Disney Investor Day presentation. Hawley will be in mostly creative control, developing and producing the project with Ridley Scott back on board as a producer through his Scott Free label. Hawley is best known for his work on Fargo and Legion.

It was initially discussed and rumored back in 2019 that Hawley was working on an Alien project but was ultimately shot down. But now it seems that the discussions continued and he will now be given keys to the world of Xenomorphs as the project has finally ended up in his lap.

This will be a follow up to six official Alien movies and two less than stellar Aliens VS Predators movies. With Alien Covenant failing critically and at the box office, it's really not shocking that they're moving into the television realm with the next Alien focused project. Hawley has done some great original work in the past. We look forward to seeing what he does with an extended series.
