Beware The Daywalker: Blade Reboot Title Announced and Other Bloody Details

It's been known for quite some time that Marvel Studios was moving ahead with a full reboot of their Blade franchise. It was announced some time last year that dramatic superstar Mahershala Ali would be picking up the role from Wesley Snipes. Then things went quiet for a while. But now, with Marvel firming up their television lineup on Disney+ and studios figuring out how to work around the pandemic, the first entry in a new movie franchise is finally moving forward. A couple news bits hit over the last couple days about the brand new Blade movie that will bring the character into modern times.

Yesterday it was announced that the film would not simply be called Blade. Marvel has re-titled the update as Blade, The Vampire Slayer. Obviously, this is bears a resemblance to another famous vampire hunting franchise. We're not sure why they decided to tag end the movie name but who are we to ask questions?

It was also announced that Watchmen television series scribe, Stacy Osei-Kuffour will be writing the script for the new movie release. There has not been an announcement as to when the film will go into production but we're guessing some time later this year which will mean either a 2022 or 2023 release. We'll update as we hear more!
