As the streaming wars rage on, everyone is looking for the latest film or show to pick up for their service. Everyone wants to hit big and bring in more subscribers. One of the more aggressive purchases in this space is Apple. With their seemingly limitless wallet, they have been able to pick up films from talents like Martin Scorsese, Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Sofia Coppola, and more. And today, we are hearing of a new pick up from the burgeoning movie and TV studio.

Apple Studios has won out in a competitive bidding war for Dolly, a new feature film starring Florence Pugh with Vanessa Taylor and Drew Pearce writing the script. The film is described as sci-fi courtroom drama. Dolly is about a robot companion doll that kills its owner and then shocks the world by asking for a lawyer.  The film is based on the story of the same name by Elizabeth Bear.

You might have to wait a bit to see it. The film is not greenlit just yet as the script isn't finished and there isn't a director attached. But given the bidding war between studios and with Florence Pugh attached, we can imagine that this one will be coming sooner rather than later.
