The Last Jedi: Rian Johnson's Star Wars Trilogy is Still Happening

 



If there's one thing that's sure to spawn a heated discussion, it's Rian Johnson's Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Some love it and some hate it. But there is no peace in the galaxy when it comes down to the most divisive film in the galaxy far, far away. Now take this as anecdotal but it looks like the writer/director is still developing a trilogy of films for Disney and Lucasfilm that are to come some time in the future. While they were not officially announced during the Disney Investor Day 2020, it seems that he's still developing the project for the mouse house with some intent on still getting the movies in front of the camera in the next few years. 

When speaking with USA Today writer Sariah Wilson, he apparently spoke about his work on a new set of films. He also dove into minor details about romance between Kylo and Rey. Although she doesn't directly quote him in her tweet, she says that he let on that it's still happening. After doing a lengthy interview with him, she took to social media and posted this:
