The Creed saga is officially moving forward with a planned Thanksgiving 2022 release date. After the successes of both Creed and Creed II, we'll once again be returning to the world of boxing as Michael B. Jordan takes up directing the third film in the continued saga of Adonis Creed, the son of fictional championship boxer Apollo Creed. The last two films proved to be a financial and critical success for MGM as the Rocky story continued into another decade. Creed II proved to be a fairly sized hit for the studio, racking up over $200 million at the box office against a meager $50 million budget. It became quickly apparent that they'd want to move ahead with another chapter for the on screen athletic champ.

Creed III will be Jordan's directorial debut and will definitely give him a chance to spread his creative wings. What remains to be seen is if Sylvester Stallone will actually come back as Rocky Balboa. After the last movie, he said that he was done as Rocky and wouldn't return to the role again. However, he recanted the statement and said he was working on a third iteration that would see him in another Rocky movie that would be about another younger boxer making his way through the ranks. We'll have to wait and see if he changes his mind. Imagining one of these movies without Balboa in the corner is a hard pill to swallow.

No clues have been revealed as to where the story goes from here. We'll update as we hear more.
