As plans begin to take hold for George Miller's next adventure in the post apocalyptic wasteland of the world of Mad Max, the wheels are beginning to spin for Junkie XL. The musician has announced that he'll be returning for the new adventure that will center strictly on the early years of Furiosa. He previously scored Mad Max: Fury Road and was asked back to do the same for Miller's latest. As it's still in the beginning phases, there are few details known about the story at this point.
This fifth movie in the deserted wasteland of Mad Max will feature Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in lead roles. It's currently slated to hit cinemas on June 23, 2023 as long as things finally start to open back up after the pandemic.
The composer also recorded the music for the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong, and Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead.
