Even Stranger Things: Finn Wolfhard Says Season Four Likely Delayed Until 2022

It's not looking good for a 2021 release of the fourth and final season of Stranger Things on Netflix. Due to the pandemic, the production of the show saw many delays which have pushed back its release. Now, actor Finn Wolfhard has some more bad news for fans. During a Fammio video chat with fans, the actor said that he doesn't expect the show to see the light of day until 2022. When questioned, he responded:

"Season 4? It should be out some time next year, hopefully."

This doesn't bode well for the show and may cause problems with the age of the cast. Considering season 3 was released in 2019, it will be almost 3 years between seasons. Whether or not this poses plot or delivery issues for the Duffer Bros. remains to be seen.

It was initially announced that season 4 would be the final season. Over time it came out that the finale would be an extended set of episodes that would close out the series, which could see it broken into two sets of chapters, much like The Walking Dead or other popular television shows. They may be reaching a point where fans begin to lose interest.
