As the film world begins to break free of the pandemic, blockbuster movies are finally getting back underway. The upcoming sequel to Shazam! is movie towards production with numerous announcements over the last couple weeks. The latest news out of the DC cinematic camp is that Lucy Liu has officially boarded the project as the villain for the second film. The 52 year old actress joins Helen Mirren who will also be playing a baddie in the movie. Liu will be portraying Kalypso, the second daughter of Atlas and sister to Mirren's Hespera. Both will be facing Shazam in his second film, the follow up to the successful 2019 comic book feature which stars Zachary Levi as the title super hero.
There are no real details about the story of Fury of the Gods quite yet. But we'll update as we hear more details about the film. The first movie was a hit for the studio making nearly $366 million against a budget of $100 million. It was a sure fire success for WB and will most likely see continued success with its sequel. As we've seen over the last few weeks, folks are eager to get back to the movies.
