In a bit of breaking early afternoon news, the next Indiana Jones adventure has added another cast member. It's just been announced that Mads Mikkelsen will be joining the fifth installment of the series. Word just broke via Deadline a few minutes ago. Mikkelsen will join Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in what is said to be the final installment in the decades long series about the archaeologist. There is no word on who he'll be playing in the movie as no plot details or title have been announced.
For the next film, James Mangold will be taking over directorial duties as Steven Spielberg stepped back from the project. He'll still be executing producer duties as well as Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. John Williams will also be returning to score the feature.
Currently, Indy 5 is set to start filming this summer with a release date slated for July 29th, 2022.
