You Got Everything To Lose: Sylvester Stallone Confirms He's Not Returning for Creed III

With the release of Creed II, Sylvester Stallone announced that he was retiring the character of Rocky Balboa. He later recanted that statement and has since been working on another movie that will see him work with another young boxer. He's also been in the works on a television project that would tell the backstory of classic characters from the long running series.

Now, as it's been announced that Michael B. Jordan will be starring and directing in the next Creed installment, Stallone commented via Instagram and has once again stated that Rocky will not be appearing in the third spin-off movie. Creed II did offer some closure for the character as he made some peace with his past. But, fans always hope that the legacy of Rocky would be felt across all the entries in this extended franchise.

As a lifelong fan of the Balboa saga this will be hard pillow to swallow as Rocky was the one thread that kept these all interconnected. Hopefully, the writing team is doing a great job and Jordan will do amazing as a director. It will just be strange considering the years we've come to know and love the Italian Stallion.
