Gunning for News: James Gunn Talks About Filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Later This Year

At long last, James Gunn has finished work on The Suicide Squad and is almost done with The Peacemaker spinoff show he is making for HBO Max. As Gunn puts the finishing touches on his DC work, we know have an idea of when he will return to the Guardians of the Galaxy. 

Gunn has confirmed that the next volume in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga will be heading into production this year. In a follow up tweet, Gunn has stated that much of the work has already begun on developing the visuals for the latest chapter and that shooting will start at the end of the year. The Guardians were last seen in 2019 with their appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Many of the cast will be appearing in the upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. The holiday special will film while the cast also films GOTG3. 

Currently, the plot details have been kept under wraps but its theorized that they'll be looking for a way to bring back Gamora due to her untimely death at the hands of Thanos. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. will come out on May 5th, 2023, nine years after the original Guardians of the Galaxy's release back in 2014.
