Today marks the production start on the latest live action film adaptation of the popular game, Dungeons & Dragons. Director Jonathan Goldstein posted to Twitter today that they're finally filming after numerous delays. The film has been in the works since 2013 and will be a full relaunch of the fantasy film series and will star Chris Pine in the lead role. Over the years, this reboot has had numerous stars attached in the lead including Joe Manganiello. A rights dispute between Hasbro and the studio held the project up for years but is finally filming.

The movie stars the aforementioned Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis. Numerous others are also attached to the movie. The new adaptation is being produced by Hasbro in conjunction with Paramount Pictures and eOne.

This is the fourth attempt to make a financially viable movie series from the D&D brand. They're shooting for a March 23, 2023 release date at this time.
