Director J.J. Abrams is usually working on science fiction films but now he'll be turning his attention to a new four part mini-series on Showtime that will take a deep dig at the UFO phenomenon. In the past couple years, the topic has become even more popular as people in the government and military have begun speaking out about how they just may be real and have discussed the possibilities of alien visitors coming to earth. Now, Abrams will be focusing on a special for the cable outlet that will drop on August 8, 2021 with all episodes up for viewing at midnight.
The series will be under Abrams' Bad Robot production banner and will take a look at how the U.S. government and private entities have done to shield the population from the truth behind the unidentified flying objects. Mark Monroe and Paul Crowder are directing the docuseries.
