Fans have long taken issue with the transition between Aliens and Alien III. Now, Marvel Comics will be releasing their very own direct sequel to  James Cameron's legendary sci-fi action film that will be titled Aliens: Aftermath. The new comic will serve as a direct continuation to Aliens that apparently rewrites the ending to the movie and continues the story 35 years later when a group of journalists explores the colonization seeking answers. They journey to the planet to find the nuked out remains of Hadley's Hope and of course will stumble on some new and interesting Xenomorphs.

The comic will hit stands on July 14th and is written by Benjamin Percy with art by Dave Wachter and inks from Chris Satomayor. The comic will be released in print and will also get a digital release for the film's 35th anniversary. The story looks to abandon the Ripley story line and will follow a new set of characters which is altogether refreshing.
