It's that time again where we finally have a piece of news that isn't about something getting delayed by the Covid-19 crisis. While everything else is starting to reopen, studios are developing and looking into whatever they can make. Yep, these stories will keep happening as the world tries to return to normal. This story involves the return of an indie favorite!
Announced today, Rachel Weisz will re-team with her The Lobster co-star Colin Farrell in writer-director Todd Solondz’s new dark comedy, Love Child. While they aren't too many plot details, we do know a little about the film. The producers are describing this film as dark twist on the classical Oedipal story. Love Child is about a precocious kid in Texas who is trying to get rid of his dad so he can have his mom all to himself. Things go awry when a handsome stranger gets involved.
Solondz describes this as his first film with a plot and his first film to be set in Texas. The film is currently for sale at the Cannes Virtual Market for the domestic and international rights to distribute the film. We are sure that this will be quite the hot package for an indie studio like A24 or Neon.
