All has been revealed. Kevin Smith's latest Clerks movie begins shooting tomorrow, August 2nd on the director's birthday. The production begins on the Smith's 51st as the cast assembles to finally begin work on the second sequel in the Clerks trilogy. The original film is considered a modern classic and changed the way indie films are viewed by the general movie going public. The movie also launched Smith's career and his ViewAskewniverse that led up to films like Chasing Amy, Mallrats and numerous others.
Smith has been working towards Clerks III for quite some time and has finally gotten the project off the ground. The filming date also aligns with the 30th anniversary of Richard Linklater's Slacker, a movie that was highly influential to Smith's early career.
Grateful Undead: Today is my last day of being a 50 year old. I turn 51 tomorrow as we start shooting CLERKS III - a sequel to a movie I dreamed about making 30 years ago, when I saw Richard Linklater’s masterpiece SLACKER for the first time on the night on my 21st birthday. ❤️🎥 pic.twitter.com/Cb81ohmksN
